Daisy multimedia had a MP3 player with bluetooth.
specs:
256MB MP3 player, weighs: 25 grams, have the ability to add extra memory like SD card, support for AAC audio files with FM tuner, a built-in microphone, integrated Bluetooth for using it with a cellphone as a hands-free headset, (it doesn't look like it uses Bluetooth for file transfer).

Sometimes some computation can use "computation on-demand", but some are not. Especially your series business!!
We can't ask"What if you fail?" and expect the answer is "I won't!! "

我對於專訪中他提到隨選運算的比喻很有趣：

「我們並不是隨選運算的鼎力支持者。我們認為這實際上是倒退的作法，這很像說「相信我們，把鑰匙全都交給我們，我們負責開車送你。」一般說來，我們發現對那些效率不是太高的公司，隨選運算剛開始是個不錯的選擇。但是就長期而言，這需要付出昂貴的代價。我們寧願自己生產更加簡單和易於使用的產品，這樣用戶自己以低成本就可以使用。我們深信產品要標準化，簡單化且易於使用的原則。隨選運算的模式等於說，「你們的東西太笨重，你們自己都不能使用。那就把它交給我，因為我能用它，而你不能。你只要相信我就行，我們只會收取合理的費用。」
到頭來你並不清楚你會被收取多費用，因為你連車鑰匙都交出去了。我們認為這似乎違背產業業標準通用的原則。你可以把那些英特爾和戴爾的伺服器組裝成超級電腦，而沒有必要買一台IBM大型主機，因為後者要花費更多的代價去取得軟體和服務，以及相關的升級。我們相信這種隨選運算有點水中望月的味道，現在已經有不少的客戶也看清楚這一點了。
隨選運算的整體概念基本上就是說，「你把它交給我，我會出售你所需要的。」但是隨著科技的不斷簡化，你已經可以自己買你所需要的東西。你只需要在你的架子中再加上一台伺服器，或者儲存陣列就可以完成。你根本沒有必要讓別人給你提供額外的服務，如果所有的東西都變得簡單明瞭，你自己就可以實現你所需要的。」

隨選運算的計價一直都是個問題，也是推行的一大障礙，企業要如何評估是否採用隨選運算首先會碰到的問題就是計價。我要怎麼知道用你的隨選運算會比我自己買陣列伺服器來得便宜？還有就是安全問題。當這麼多的計算資訊在網路上流動，就算它不是機密，但也足夠令人擔心了。雖然你可以用高等級的網路安全措施來預防，但是許多狀況往往是我們平常所難以預防的。當運算連線當掉的時候有沒有臨時備案可以用？這在商業應用上是很重要的。就算是類似CG rendering這類的frame by frame運算，也難保不會出錯或是有糾紛。而問題往往是實際開始運作後才會產生，因此我認為隨選運算的方式應該reform成像是運算委外的方式，以不同價格的合約制來提供給商業公司選擇。這樣商業公司獲得了合約的權益保障後便比較能放心的將運算外包。but that's only my point of view.

What's the purpose for us to learn English?

I read this news(亞洲托福排名 台灣倒數第六) today and wondering why students become more and more passive about English studying. In this news, some experts said the major reason of low TOEFL grades caused by the lazy life attitude. Though student must have some responsibility about the TOEFL result, but it's not fair to blame them and didn't think about the social environments. As you can see, the society in Taiwan is full of localization. The news we see everyday full of ugly political affairs and small local events. We didn't care about East Asia or South Asia countries(except Japan and Korea), didn't know what's going on on this planet. The foreign news and culture is not so easy to access in our daily life. In the environments like this, you can't ask students to have good English ability. Because they had no motivation to make their English better. All of their study is for exam. Even TOEFL itself is one kind of exam. We all know the the language can't depart itself from life and culture. But the way we study English traditionally was take it as another exam subject. We totally discard the nature of this language and force ourselves to accept it.

The English education in Taiwan was not very well either. One side was happily study English and forget about test, another was study for exam desperately. They will for get why they need to learn English and eventually forget what they had learned as long as have a period without English courses. So, the core problem is still in education itself, student's attitude is connected to their motivation. Once they want to learn English, they will do whatever they can to study it, and use it. In my point of view, we should build a bilingual environment by ourselves(because we can't change whole society)and enjoy it. No matter what they said about the TOEFL grades, we know ourselves best. As long as I can use English to to what I want, to say what I want to said to know what people said, to write what I want to write. Then the English is in myself, no one can take it away from me. It's my English. I study English for myself, not others.

微軟公佈3個Windows/Office重大漏洞

「本次漏洞最嚴重的要數 Windows工作站服務的記憶體錯誤。Windows工作站服務用來幫助用戶存取印表機，檔案等網路資源，別有用心者能夠利用這個漏洞透過網際網路控制電腦，其工作方式和今年8月爆發的疾風波病毒類似。
如果用戶使用未安裝修正程式的Outlook 98 或者 Outlook 2000，IE瀏覽器上存在的幾個安全漏洞還可以讓用戶在訪問一些有毒網站或者打開電子郵件時候危害電腦，這種名為「跨網域漏洞」（cross-domain vulnerabilities）的系統缺陷主要影響除 Windows Server 2003以外的Windows所有平台上的IE 5.01, 5.5 和 6瀏覽器。」

"Perhaps the most serious flaw is a memory error in the Windows Workstation service, a software component that facilitates access to network resources such as printers and files. The vulnerability could allow an attacker to gain control of a person's PC via the Internet in much the same way the MSBlast worm was spread to hundreds of thousands of computers in August.

The patches fix several flaws in Internet Explorer that could allow an attacker to compromise a person's PC by drawing the user to a Web site designed for that purpose or with an e-mail, if the victim is using an unpatched version of Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000. 「公用運算」的特性則是攸關把運算資源當作一種類似黑盒子的東西提供給消費者。一般用戶只需有條電源線就可取用源源不絕的電力，他們並不需要知道這些電力來自何處。公用運算的目的也是為了讓客戶能更加著重在自己的核心業務，不需擔心運算性能的管理/執行問題。

「目前Kuro與EzPeer會員高達30萬到50萬人，每月收費100元左右，可以無限下載，在合法音樂下載平台出爐後，能否具備足夠吸引力，吸引消費者轉向使用合法平台，將是關鍵。iMusic這是與包括環球、BMG、EMI、Sony、華納等國際與台灣15家唱片業者合作，推出首家合法音樂下載平台。為與Kuro等競爭，iMusic正與唱片業進行最後洽商，希望將每首歌曲下載費用降至10元以下，提高競爭力。」

1.iMusic會不會在程式端做版權保護，限制轉移次數與平台
2.版權保護會不會被破壞(答案應該是肯定的)
3.那大家就只買一次歌曲然後互相交換就好，幹麼多買幾次？
4.比較有趣的一點會是：是否會造成唱片業行銷以及製作方式的改變
5.收費機制的整合？是否會跟其他電信帳單整合在一起或是要用預附點數卡的方式或是包月制？

另外，單曲購買的方式將可以避免專輯被硬塞一堆垃圾歌曲。所謂的專輯榜與單曲榜的意義是否會有所變化？
還有，唱片公司真的覺悟到了該做徹底改變了嗎？看看國外，好像還沒有。看看國內，好像還更遠。
爛歌大家都不想花錢買，好歌大家都想聽。只是唱片業者要賺錢，消費者要省錢，中間一定會有一條妥協之道，這還有待市場來做出決定。

「艾比茲預計在12月公布加入會員及音樂下載方案，邱復生表示，將會採取會員預付制方式付費，與Kuro等業者不同的是，這些合法授權下載歌曲，將會依每家唱片公司及歌曲不同而訂，因此是依每曲付費，他期望未來線上每首下載歌曲價格將降到6元到10元間。

新聞裡面有一段話很有趣：
「Virtual PC也被微軟視為開發商和資訊科技經理測試新作業系統的好方法，事實上微軟在日前的專業開發商會議上，提供一套Virtual PC的測試版給開發商測試視窗2004，即目前還在早期開發階段的下一代長角 (Longhorn)視窗作業系統。Virtual PC可以把問題隔絕在虛擬個人電腦中，不致影響實體個人電腦，萬一長角當機，不會使整部電腦停擺。」
嘖嘖，長角這樣子不行啦。還有，不曉得VMWare有沒有改善VMWare效能低落的問題，我實在很難想像用Virtual PC來模擬PC環境讓長角跑(MS每一次OS對系統硬體要求都是一次升級不是嗎？)，我想測試人員可能會等不到長角當機就已經沒耐心想把Virtual PC按下RESET了。

Finally.......IE has the pop-up blocking function, but you can't get it without update to service pack 2 on WinXP. I'm start to miss Netscape.......When Netscape still have some market share, the kind of function improvement on both side is fast and reliable(Ver.1.0-4.0). But after Netscape declined and merge with AOL, the situation had never the same. The software giant almost give up any innovation improvement of IE(pop-up block, tab feature.....etc), only release security update to fix the hole. How pathetic...........users and netscape are both losers, one side lost their rights to choice, the other lost thie market......

終於......IE可以有防彈出式視窗的功能，但是除非你用WinXP而且升級到ServicePack2，要不然還是沒輒。我開始懷念起Netscape了........當年Netscape還有雙位數市場佔有率的時候，這樣的功能更新(對兩邊都是)經常是快速而穩定的(想想1.0到4.0的IE和Netscape吧)。但是當Netscape逐漸衰敗而後被AOL併購，這樣的更新情形就不見了。已經穩佔市場的軟體巨人放棄了所有可以改進IE的創新功能(防彈出視窗，標籤視窗...等等)，只有等到安全漏洞被發現時捕捕破網。多麼可悲啊，消費者以及Netscape都同樣是輸家，只是一個失去了選擇權，另一個失去了市場。

Airpanel from Viewsonic

This is the way I prefer use for web-browsing at home. But the keyboard-less panel can't let you chat happily with your friends(maybe with its virtual keyboard, but why not use a real keyboard?). Maybe voice chat is a solution. But webcam chat will be another issue. Therefore the perfect suit should combine airpanel, webcam and compact wireless keyboard, headset, then make it as light as possible. And most important of all, make it cheap!! The suggest price(NTD$36900 & 44900) of airpanel is not affordable for normal home users. If I need to spend triple price of normal LCD monitor, I'd rather buy 3 monitors for different places at home.

我會很享受這樣子在家裡瀏覽網頁的方式，但是這個沒有鍵盤的無線顯示器可能沒有辦法讓你很高興的跟朋友線上聊天(我記得有虛擬鍵盤，但是會有真實鍵盤好打嗎？) 也許語音聊天是一個解決方式，但是視訊聊天呢？那又是另外一個問題了。因此理想中的產品組合應該是這樣的：無線顯示器整合webcam以及精簡的無線鍵盤，無線耳機組。最後，將這樣的組合想辦法輕量化。最重要的，讓產品便宜一點！這個產品的建議售價(台票36900和44900)對一般家庭使用者來說，實在不是一個親切的價錢。要是我必須花三倍LCD螢幕的價錢，那我寧可買三台螢幕放在家裡的不同地方。
